Our Story
L3JS Construction was built on a legacy of real estate, rooted in family and driven by purpose. Founded by brothers John “Jay” Lewis IV and Jamel Lewis, the company reflects decades of industry exposure and a shared commitment to reshaping spaces and communities across Greensboro, NC, and beyond. Growing up in a household where both parents were active real estate brokers, agents, property managers, and developers, Jay and Jamel were immersed in the business from an early age. Whether shadowing property tours, assisting on-site, or absorbing business lessons around the dinner table, the brothers developed a strong work ethic and deep appreciation for real estate that would eventually shape their careers.
After graduating high school, both brothers attended NC State University in Raleigh, NC, before carving out their own professional paths.

Co Founder
Jay Lewis
Jay Lewis earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from NC State University in 2013. While at NC State, Jay was a proud member of the Men’s Basketball program from 2010 to 2013, which helped refine his leadership, discipline, and team-first mindset.
Following graduation, Jay launched a successful corporate career at Lenovo and later Lucid Software, where he developed strong expertise in business strategy, operations, and organizational growth. These experiences equipped him with the tools to lead high-performing teams and drive scalable success.
In 2021, Jay made the full-time leap into entrepreneurship, combining his strategic business acumen with his lifelong passion for Real Estate and Development.

Jamel Lewis
Jamel Lewis graduated from NC State University in 2015 with a dual degree in Business Administration (Marketing) and International Studies – Latin America. His diverse academic background laid the groundwork for a global and consumer-focused approach to business.
After college, Jamel began his corporate career with John Deere, gaining valuable experience in operations, marketing, and cross-functional collaboration. His time in the corporate world sharpened his ability to manage complex projects and build sustainable, people-first solutions — skills he would later bring into the world of construction.
In 2021, Jamel took the leap of faith into entrepreneurship. He brought his customer experience and business optimization experience with him into Construction and Development.
